AI Character Generator

Character design is about silhouette first. Before any detail lands, a character has to be identifiable as a black shape: the outline of the hair, the shoulder line, the props they carry. Prompts that name a distinctive silhouette element, whether that is an oversized coat, a heavy backpack, or an asymmetric haircut, produce characters that feel designed rather than generated.

The second thing worth being explicit about is age, build, and expression, because models drift toward a narrow default otherwise. Say "stocky woman in her fifties" or "lanky teenager" and the output changes completely. Then fix your style clause and reuse it verbatim so a cast of characters looks like it came from one artist.

How to get better results

  • Describe the silhouette before the details: the coat, the bag, the hair shape. That is what makes a character recognisable.
  • State age and build explicitly. Left unsaid, models default to a narrow range and everyone comes out looking the same.
  • Reuse the identical style clause across a cast so the characters look like they belong to one project.
  • Prompt for a plain or neutral background; a busy scene competes with the character you are trying to design.

Best for

  • Original characters and OCs
  • Comics and webtoons
  • Game and animation casts
  • Novel and story development

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep the same character across multiple images?
Write a fixed character description block, reuse it word for word, and keep the seed constant while you change only the pose or setting. Perfect consistency is not achievable with text-to-image alone, but this gets you recognisably close.
Can I generate a full body character sheet?
Ask for "full body" and "plain background" and you will get a usable single pose. Multi-pose turnaround sheets are unreliable because the poses drift out of proportion with each other.
Can I generate anime style characters?
Yes. The Anime Style model is built for it and is available on Studio plans. On the free models, adding "anime style, cel shaded, clean lineart" gets you a reasonable approximation.
